POETRY / ESSAY CONTEST: Express Yourself
who can enter: anyone
FEE: ENTRY FEE OF $5. FOR 1-5 POEMS or essays up to 10 pages. For essays or individual poems ( such as epic poetry) exceeding 10 pages please add an additional .50 cents per page.
Multiple entries are accepted but additional entry fees will be charged
SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS/TEACHERS: Our goal is to showcase talent and encourage expression. We encourage School administrators to enter student work to promote writing in your schools. We offer an admission fee of $50 per school district wishing to participate.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION; submissions will be accepted until December 30, 2019. Winners will be announced on or around January 20, 2020.
CATEGORIES: work will be categorized as follows: 10 years and under; Young adult ( 11-18); Adult (19-62); Senior (63 and up)
winning poems will be published on this web site and will be considered for inclusion in an anthology of works to be published in 2020.
FORMS/ GENRE/ ETC. : Any form of poetry is accepted, with the exception of erotica.
TOPIC: If you are feeling it, you should write it. Essays or poetry on any and all topics or themes will be accepted.
RULES:

- By your entry in this contest, you are guaranteeing that your work is your own, authentic work and/or that you have the right to submit it for consideration and possible future publication.
- Winners will be notified by mail or email and through publication on this website and all winning entries will be published on this website. Authors will not be reimbursed for published works. The author will retain all rights to their work. If you do not wish for your winning entry to be published on this site, please note this on your submission cover letter.
- All entries will be considered for publication in an anthology of works to be announced at a future date, regardless of winning status. If your poem/essay is selected for publication, you will be notified and will be asked to sign a publishing agreement. No works will be published without the authors express permission.
- Authors may be invited to present their works at future public events, forums, ceremonies. Please note that participation in these events is voluntary and will not result in monetary reimbursement.
Please include a cover letter indicating your name, age, address, phone number and email address. Please list all works by title or first line. Your name and age should appear at the top right of all pages submitted.
